THE 3 STAR BEST WESTERN TIVERTON HOTEL is the Hotel we use as our base on this

         “Best of Devon Tour”.  

It is situated in Tiverton and has 69 Bedrooms with 30 on the ground floor of this two storey building.   The Hotel does not have a lift but all bedrooms allocated are on the ground or 1stfloor, all have tea/coffee making facilities, iron and ironing boards, free Wifi and are Twin or Double bedded rooms.  

Single Rooms carry a supplement and a Double Room is used.  

The hotel has its own restaurant The Gallery and we are booked in for Full English Breakfast, which is help yourself and a 3 course Evening Meal with a choice of starters, followed by main course which is help yourself, with choices, plus a delicious selection of sweets to choose from, followed by tea and coffee in the Lounge.

SUNDAY  -  We travel via the motorway making a comfort stop at a services, then continue on our journey  making a further stop at a services where you can obtain lunch.   We continue on our journey to arrive at our Hotel for later afternoon.   Enjoy a tea or coffee whilst your luggage is taken to your room.    Evening dinner in the restaurant.

MONDAY  -  We depart on our day excursion to East Devon, first visiting the “Pearl of Devon”,  LYME REGIS which boasts breathtaking scenery and a special mystique, making it a sparkling resort for all seasons. Its historic Cobb and harbour are iconic features, and the lovely flat promenade has views Devon’s best kept secret.   

From here we travel the short distance toSIDMOUTH.    Hidden in plain view along the beautiful Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a seaside town like no other.  Sidmouth allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds, with everything you can expect from a beach holiday as well as having a rural feel and a real community atmosphere.   'A town caught still in a timeless charm', Poet Laureate, John Betjeman, chose those words to describe Sidmouth after being captivated by its beautiful gardensleisurely walks, clean beaches and Regency history. This lovely seaside town is nestled beneath majestic red cliffs, which, along with the green hills of the Sid Valley, will captivate you too.  

We return to our hotel late afternoon.

TUESDAY  -  We depart today on our excursion to North Devon to the holiday town of ILFRACOMBE.

Here there is something for everyone with its picturesque historic harbour of quaint pastel coloured houses, 14thCentury chapel perched on Lantern Hill and Damien Hirst’s statue,  Verity standing guard at the entrance surrounded by dramatic clifftop scenery. With its stunning beaches and coves including the famous Tunnels Beaches, great eateries, numerous art and craft galleries and independent shops.   We return to the Hotel, late afternoon.

WEDNESDAY -   We depart today to South Devon, travelling across DARTMOORwith its remoteness, huge vistas, rugged tors and of course the ponies,  to TAVISTOCK.   Tavistock is a thriving, beautifully friendly market town that is worthy of any visitor. An ancient stannary town and home of the cream tea.   The famous Cream Tea – a form of afternoon light meal consisting of tea taken with scones, clotted cream and jam.   But where did it originate?   TAVISTOCK.  

Tavistock is the only town in Devon to hold world heritage status. The vibrancy and uniqueness of Tavistock is undeniable with a range of beautiful local independent shops which are a far cry from today's typical high street.    Situated at the very heart of the historic town of Tavistock is the ancient Pannier Market, one of the hidden gems of Tavistock. The Market was granted its Royal Charter in 1105 and has survived without a break for over 900 years.

We return to the hotel late afternoon.

THURSDAY  -  We meet the coach, after breakfast and commence our journey home.   A comfort stop will be made at a services, when you can obtain lunch.    A further short stop will be made when the driver will give estimated arrival home times.

Bookings are taken over the telephone, followed by £50.00 per person deposit, paid by bank transfer or cheque. With final payment 6 weeks prior to departure date.
