GLORIOUS NEWQUAY

 Monday, 20 April  -  Friday, 24 April, 2026.

Staying at the ESPLANADE HOTEL, Fistral Beach which is an ideal base for a getaway in Cornwall.  The Esplanade Hotel boast stunning views as it overlooks the famous Fistral Beach, where you can watch the fabulous surf rolling in from the comfort of your Hotel.  The town with its shops, restaurants and picturesque harbour is just a short stroll away, but if you prefer a day indoors, then the heated pool, hot tub and sauna are the perfect places to relax.   After busy days, relax and enjoy the dramatic sea views from the lounge and restaurant the Cove, or try a drink in the Elements Bar.  There is a lift to all floors.   Evening dinner there are a choice of 3 starters, 4 main courses and 3 desserts followed by tea and coffee.  English Breakfast is served every morning.  There is entertainment on 2 nights.  Rooms with sea views are on request only and incur a supplement of £30.00 per room, per night.   Rooms with walk-in showers are available on request, so please let Margaret know on booking. 

MONDAY  -  We travel via the motorway in our Executive coach with toilet, washroom and drink facilities, making a comfort stop at a service’s, then a further stop at a services where we can have lunch, and we should arrive at THE ESPLANADE  HOTEL, in the afternoon, whilst we are checking in, our luggage will be taken up to our bedrooms.   Evening meal in the restaurant. 

 

TUESDAY -  Breakfast in the restaurant and today we have a FREE DAY to explore as you wish.   Stroll into Newquay or take the bus which stops near the hotel.

 

WEDNESDAY -  Today our excursion is first to ST. IVES.   St. Ives, the dazzling jewel in Cornwall’s crown, a picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town, with a maze of narrow streets, independent shops, lovely cafes and its famous art scene and home to The Tate.  Try a boat trip to Seal Island.

Our next stop will be LANDS END.   Lands End is mainland Britain’s most south-westerly point and one of the country’s most famous landmarks.  From the 200 foot high granite cliffs that rise out of the Atlantic Ocean you can gaze across to the Longships Lighthouse and on a good day see the Isles of Scilly.   Lands End is famous for the iconic signpost marking the 874 mile distance to John O’Groats.

There is a Visitors Centre, café, First and last house, local craftworkers and signpost shop.

THURSDAY -  Our excursion today is to PADSTOW.   Padstow is a picturesque fishing port with a pretty working harbour and has become the most must visit foodie destination, thanks in large part to Rick Stein.   This is the place to try fish and chips or a Cornish Pasty, visit one of the many cafés and tearooms, explore the shops.   

Did you know?  DOOM BAR the UK’s best selling cask and bottled ale, takes its name from the notorious sandbar at the mouth of the Camel Estuary.  Feared by many, the Doom Bar is known for shifting with the tides and currents, especially after storms.  More than 600 vessels are believed to have been wrecked here the most recent in 2020.

 

FRIDAY - We meet the coach, after breakfast and commence our journey home.    A stop will be made at a services, giving you time to have lunch.  A further stop, nearer home will be made when the driver will give arrival home times so passengers who wish to be met can telephone.

 

PRICE FOR THIS 5 DAY TOUR IS:   £598.00 per person in Twin, Double Rooms in the Esplanade Hotel.

SINGLE ROOMS;  £678.00

 

Price includes return coach fare and ALL day excursions, NO HIDDEN EXTRAS.

 

Bookings are taken over the telephone, followed by £50.00 per person deposit, paid by bank transfer or cheque.  With final payment 6 weeks prior to departure date.

 

INSURANCE:   We suggest you take out your own insurance in case of illness and can’t travel.
