ISLE OF WIGHT

SUMMER IN SANDOWN, ISLE OF WIGHT

Tuesday, 5 August - Monday, 11 August, 2025.

Staying at the fabulous TROUVILLE HOTEL, which is centrally situated on the flat promenade, opposite the golden beach at SANDOWN. This hotel offers Twin and Double Rooms, all with sea views, at no extra charge, and Single Rooms, but single rooms DO NOT have sea views and do not carry a supplement. All rooms have hospitality tray, and T.V.  There is a lift to all floors, and the large ballroom has a maple sprung dance floor with a variety of music, dancing and entertainment, there is an indoor leisure room with short mat bowling, table tennis, pool table and darts. The restaurant has superb views across the bay and provides good service and a varied menu to suit all tastes..

 

TUESDAY -  We travel via the motorway in an executive coach with toilet and washroom and drink facilities, making a comfort stop at a services. A further stop will be made when you can obtain lunch.  We continue our journey and head to the docks for our short sail across THE SOLENT to the ISLE OF WIGHT, once we dock our coach will take us the short distance to THE TROUVILLE HOTEL.   Evening dinner will be served in the restaurant, which overlooks the bay, followed by an evening of entertainment.

WEDNESDAY -  Full English Breakfast in the restaurant, and today is a FREE DAY to do as you wish.   Stroll along the flat sea front, or if you are feeling energetic, walk along the seafront to Shanklin, or just relax around Sandown.

 

THURSDAY  -  Today our excursion, first calling at  NEWPORT, which is the Islands capital.  It is very quaint, has lovely squares and shops and a M & S.   We travel the short distance to COWES, which is famous for The Round the Island boat race.   It is a quaint little village and has a lovely sea front.

FRIDAY  -  Today our day excursion is to  RYDE, which has a lovely shopping area with individual shops full of surprises, a flat promenade and beautiful gardens and is the biggest town on the Island.  If you are interested you can get the Hovercraft over to Portsmouth, then you can view the Spinnaker and if you are adventurous go up to the top.   Alternatively visit the Navel Docks.   The sail over takes between 10 - 12 minutes.

SATURDAY -   Today our excursion is firstly to the beautiful thatched village of GODSHILL, this picturesque village is home to the "chocolate box" cottages with thatched roofs.   Visit Godshill Model Village which depicts Godshill and Shanklin in perfect miniature, surrounded by award-winning gardens.  Walk up to All Saint's Church on top of the Hill overlooking the village and learn about the story behind the church.  

From here we travel the short distance to SHANKLIN, visit Vernon's Cafe for the most delicious Cream Tea.

 

SUNDAY -  Today is a FREE DAY, relax, enjoy the beach, take a walk up the pier, as this is our last day, before we depart for home.

 

MONDAY -  Breakfast, then we meet the coach and commence our journey to meet the ferry to take us back to the mainland.    A stop will be made so passengers may take lunch, and a further comfort stop will be made when the driver will give arrival home times so passengers who wish to be met can telephone home.

 

PRICE PER PERSON :-   £710.00  per person in Twin, Double Rooms with Sea Views and in Single Rooms with NO SEA VIEW, no extra supplement.

 

This 7 day tour includes return coach with toilet and washroom, return ferry, all excursions as stated, 6 nights Bed, Full Breakfast and Evening Meal, 3 courses with choices, at the TROUVILLE HOTEL, SEAFRONT, SANDOWN, and entertainment.  Please note departure times could alter, depending on time of ferry they book us on.

 

Deposit required is £50.00 per person, and full payment 6 weeks prior to departure date.  

 

INSURANCE:   It is advisable to take out your own insurance in case of illness.
