Our Hotel is the 4 STAR DOUBLETREE BY HILTON OXFORD BELFRY HOTEL, which is set in 17 acres of beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, with flower beds and a sparkling fountain. The hotel offers bright, modern public areas, a restaurant called Spires, Bar, lounges, health club and spa with indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Bedrooms are Twin Bedded or Double Bedded and Single Rooms but these single rooms carry a surcharge and a Twin or Double will be used for sole use. Bedrooms are air condition and have a flatscreen T.V., tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer and iron and ironing board. There are 60 ground floor rooms and 100 rooms with walk-in showers. THESE MUST BE BOOKED WHEN MAKING YOUR BOOKING WITH MARGARET, SO PLEASE INFORM HER. We are booked in for English Breakfast, Evening Dinner with choice of 3 starters, 3 main courses, 3 desserts followed by tea or coffee.
SUNDAY - We travel via the motorway and a comfort stop will be made at a services, then we make our way to STRATFORD-UPON-AVON, this market town has more than 800 years of history, with many buildings untouched. You will find big name stores and unique individual shops, visit Shakespeare’s birth place or Anne Hatherway’s cottage.
You will have time for a look around and something to eat before we continue our journey to arrive at the HILTON OXFORD BELFRY HOTEL mid afternoon. Evening meal in the Spires Restaurant.
MONDAY -
English Breakfast then we meet the coach for our day excursion to the beautiful BLENHEIM PALACE, PARK AND GARDENS. Home to the 12th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and birth place of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace is a masterpiece of Barque architecture that boasts over 300 years of history and is set within parkland landscaped by Capability Brown.
Situated in Woodstock it is Britains Greatest Palace and offers visitors a precious time, every time. Our ticket is for the Palace, Park and Gardens, and you can wander at your own pace. Places to eat or have a brew are The Orangery, The Oxfordshire Pantry, The Snack Shack, The Stables Café and The Walled Garden Pizzeria.
TUESDAY -
Today our excursion is through the beautiful countryside of the fabulous COTSWOLDS.
First stop of BANBURY, check out the Cross and see if you can see a Lady on a White Horse !!
From here we travel through the Cotswolds to MORETON-IN-MARSH, and today is Market Day and it is the largest openair market in the Cotswolds.
From here again travelling through the Cotswolds countryside we stop at BROADWAY, known as “The Jewel of the Cotswolds”. High Street is lined with horse chestnut trees and honey coloured Cotswold stone cottages, the shops are independent shops and you will find plenty of cafes and restaurants.
We travel the short distance to STOW-ON-THE-WOLD, again wander round this famous town and explore the shops. Enjoy a coffee and cake in one of the many cafes. We return to our hotel after spending a fabulous day in this beautiful part of the world.
WEDNESDAY - Today our day excursion is to OXFORD, known as the City of Dreaming Spires. There is plenty to see and do in Oxford, from University of Oxford, to Oxford Castle, to The Covered Market, and then there are the shops.
THURSDAY - We meet the coach, after breakfast and commence our journey home. A comfort stop will be made at a services, when you can obtain lunch. A further short stop will be made when the driver will give estimated arrival home times.
PRICE PER PERSON: £628.00, SHARING A TWIN OR DOUBLE BEDDED ROOM.
SINGLE ROOM: £768.00 AND A TWIN/DOUBLE ROOM FOR SOLE USE WILL BE USED.
Bookings are taken over the telephone and a deposit of £50.00 per person is required, either by cheque or bank transfer.
Full payment is required 6 weeks prior to departure.
