EXPLORING BEAUTIFUL KENT

Sunday, 21 July  -  Thursday, 25 July, 2024.

Staying at the 4 STAR ASHFORD INTERNATIONAL HOTEL, set in the heart of leafy green Kent,

4 nights Bed, Full English Breakfast and Evening Dinner with 3 courses, with 3 choices of each course followed by tea or coffee.

Designed for complete comfort, all of the 179 purpose built bedrooms are contemporary with luxurious touches, a deep mattress, soft pillows and plenty of space to rest.   There are ground floor bedrooms, and 2 lifts serves all floors.  All bedrooms have flat screen T.V’s, free Wifi, tea and coffee making facilities.   There is a 20 metre swimming pool and spa treatments.

SUNDAY -  Once all pickups are done, (pickup points and times at the end) we travel via the motorway and a short comfort stop will be made.   We continue our journey making a further stop, giving you time for something to eat.   We should arrive at the 4 STAR ASHFORD INTERNATIONAL HOTEL, late afternoon.   Whilst you are checking in, your luggage will be taken to your room.   Evening Dinner in the Hotel’s restaurant.  

 

MONDAY -  Full breakfast in the restaurant, then we meet the coach for our day excursion, first we stop at the historic CINQUE PORT OF HYTHE.   Hythe, one of the Cinque Ports, is a small, quaint, coastal market town, with beautiful shops.  It has medieval and Georgian buildings, as well as a Saxon/Norman church on the hill and a seafront promenade with a pier.   Hythe was once defended by two castles, Saltwood and Lympne.   After a short stop, we join the coach and make our way to THE ROMNEY, HYTHE & DYMCHURCH RAILWAY, which is the smallest public railway, and runs across Romney Marsh to Dungeness, the eerie home to the “listening walls”, built for early signs of enemy aircraft, and is a designated National Nature Reserve.   The train ride is13 ½ miles and takes about 1 hour.   The coach will meet us at Dungeness and transfer us to the picturesque town of RYE, which has quaint streets, historic buildings and past links to smuggling !!!

 

TUESDAY -   We meet the coach after breakfast for our day excursion and we travel through the beautiful Kent and Sussex countryside first stopping at the famous town of HASTINGS.   Hastings which is another Cinque Port, is full of history and is famous for The Battle of Hastings which took place in 1066, in a field just outside of town.  In Hastings you will find vintage shops, an old pirate town and Fishermans Beach which has Europe’s largest beach-launched fishing fleet, and is where Maggies famous fish and chip café is based over the old fishmarket, with views out over the fishing boats and the beach.   We stop here giving you time to explore, then we continue on our journey to the beautiful seaside town of EASTBOURNE.    Eastbourne has a lovely flat promenade dotted with beautiful gardens and plenty of benches to sit and watch the world go by.   At one end you will find The Bandstand where many concerts are held and at the other end the famous Victorian Pier, with cafes, shops and amusements.  The town centre has a lovely shopping area with plenty of cafes and restaurants.   We stop here giving you time to explore.

 

WEDNESDAY -   We meet the coach after breakfast for our day excursion to the historic Cathedral City of CANTERBURY.    Canterbury with its ancient walls, originally built by the Romans, encircle its medieval centre with its atmospheric quaint streets and timber-framed houses, lots of lovely shops to explore, take the weight off your feet in one of the many cafes or restaurants when you have explored this fabulous City and taken in all the sights. 

 

THURSDAY  -   We meet the coach, after breakfast and once luggage is loaded, we commence our journey home.   A comfort stop will be made at a service, and then a further stop will be made when you can purchase lunch.   As we are nearing home, the driver will give estimated arrival home times, so people who wish to be met can telephone home.

 

PRICE PER PERSON:   £578.00 IN TWIN/DOUBLE ROOMS

 

SINGLE ROOM IS:   £690.00.

 

Price includes ALL day excursions and entrances, NO HIDDEN EXTRAS.

Bookings are taken over the telephone, followed by £50.00 per person deposit, paid by bank transfer or cheque, with final payment 6 weeks prior to departure date.

INSURANCE:   We suggest you take out your own insurance.
