Staying at the BEDFORD HOTEL, which is a fabulous family run hotel situated on Sidmouth’s seafront, overlooking Lyme Bay. The Bedford Hotel is a historic Regency house with comfortable and stylish accommodation.
It was in fact one of the first Regency houses to be built on the seafront, it was originally Wallis’s Marine Library and Reading Rooms and was a popular meeting place for Sidmouth’s fashionable summer visitors in the early 19th Century.
The bedrooms have been tastefully decorated and modernised whilst keeping their traditional feel, and all have walk-in showers/shower cubicles.
There is a lift to all floors, but not suitable for wheelchairs and there are still some steps to some rooms.
This Hotel is dog friendly. We are booked in for Bed, Full English Breakfast and Evening Dinner which consists of a choice of 3 starters, 3 main courses, 3 desserts and tea or coffee. The bedrooms are Twin, Double and Single Rooms and there is no extra charge for Single Rooms.
TUESDAY - We depart from pickup points overleaf. We make a comfort stop at a Service Station for 30 minutes, and a further stop at a Services for 45 minutes, which will give you time for lunch, and should arrive at the Bedford Hotel mid afternoon, the porters will deliver your cases to your rooms. Evening Dinner will be served in the Hotel’s Restaurant at 6.30 p.m.
WEDNESDAY - Breakfast in the Hotel’s Restaurant and you can go any time between 8.00 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. Today’s excursion is WEYMOUTH this popular holiday resort has a lovely flat promenade with a magnificent Georgian seafront, which is dotted with colourful beach huts, a huge bay with soft sand and plenty of deckchairs. Visit the historic working harbour and watch the boats coming and going. Then of course there is Retail Therapy, plenty of shops in the quaint town and plenty of places to have something to eat, or just a coffee and cake.
After spending the day here, we return back to Sidmouth.
THURSDAY - Todays excursion is to SWANAGE. A charming Victorian seaside resort located within the beautiful Isle of Purbeck. Swanage is known for its mild weather and unique micro-climate, it's a destination for all seasons. The town has kept much of its original Victorian charm with its shops and its magnificent heritage pier. The seafront is flat and the sand is soft. After spending the day her, we return back to Sidmouth.
FRIDAY - Todays excursion is to DORCHESTER, which is Dorset's county town and the birthplace of Thomas Hardy. The town enjoys a rich history dating back as far as the Iron Age. The town centre is pedestrianised and has 3 shopping arcades, plus shops along the High Street, some being independent shops. After a morning shopping and exploring we make our way back to Sidmouth and you then have the afternoon free in Sidmouth, stroll along the promenade or wander through the quaint streets exploring.
SATURDAY - We meet the coach, after breakfast and commence our journey home. A stop will be made at a services, giving you time to have lunch. A further stop, nearer home will be made when the driver will give arrival home times so passengers who wish to be met can telephone.
PRICE FOR THIS 5 DAY TOUR IS: £600.00 per person in Twin, Double, Single Rooms in the Bedford Hotel. NO EXTRA CHARGE FOR SINGLE ROOMS.
Price includes return coach fare and ALL day excursions, NO HIDDEN EXTRAS.

Bookings are taken over the telephone, followed by £50.00 per person deposit, paid by bank transfer or cheque, with final payment 6 weeks prior to departure date.
