HEART OF WALES STEAM

and CRUISE with BUFFET LUNCH TOUR

MONDAY,  27 MAY  -  FRIDAY,  31 MAY, 2024.

Staying at the 4 Star Metropole Hotel, Llandrindod Wells, and we use as our base.   We are booked in for Bed, Welsh Breakfast and Evening Dinner with 4 choices of Starters, Main Course and Desserts followed by Tea or Coffee.  

The Head Chef is committed to providing unforgettable meals from the finest Welsh ingredients.  Bedrooms are beautifully furnished with flat screen colour TV, hair dryer, tea and coffee making facilities and Wifi.  

We are booked in Twin, Double or Single Rooms, the Single Rooms carry a supplement and it is a standard Single en-suite room.  

There is a lift to all floors which is suitable for a wheelchair.  There are bedrooms with walk-in showers available and these are on request. The Hotel also has Rock Spa which offers spa treatments.

MONDAY -  Once everyone has been pickup, times overleaf, we travel via the motorway, making a stop at CHESTER, where you will have time to look around and have something to eat.  We then commence our journey to The Metropole Hotel, Llandrindod Wells.   On arrival our luggage will be taken to our rooms, whilst we check in.  

Evening Meal is a choice of 4 starters, 4 main courses, 4 desserts followed by tea or coffee.  

 

TUESDAY -  Welsh breakfast in the restaurant and we meet our coach after breakfast for our day excursion.  

We meet our guide for our 1 ½ hours coach tour through the ELAN VALLEY by a Ranger which includes entrance into the Elan Valley Visitor Centre.  

After our tour, we return to the Hotel and the afternoon is free for you to explore Llandrindod Wells.

WEDNESDAY -   Welsh breakfast in the restaurant and we meet our coach after breakfast or our day excursion first calling at ABERYSTWYTH, which is one of the biggest towns in Mid Wales with lots of lovely independent shops.  Stroll along the Victorian promenade or wander up the pier, call for a drink at the Inn on the Pier.   The BBC series “Hinterland” was filmed here.   In the afternoon our coach will take us to the railway station for our ride on THE VALE OF RHEIDOL STEAM RAILWAY from Aberystwyth to Devils Bridge which take about 1 hour.  Watch out for Red Kites and Buzzards along the way.    

The coach will meet us at Devils Bridge and return us to Llandrindod Wells.

THURSDAY -   We meet the coach, after breakfast and make our way to the Cathedral city of BRECON.   The coach will drop us and you have time to explore before we meet the coach again and go the short journey to DRAGONFLY CRUISES for our cruise.  

Spend a delightful few hours cruising through some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain, lying within the Brecon Beacons National Park.  

The Monmouthshire and Brecon’s canal hugs the mountain side above the valley of the River Usk with fine views and an abundance of wild life.  

A Buffet Lunch will be served to us whilst cruising and this consists of assorted sandwiches, pastries, welsh cakes and scones, followed by a choice of hot or cold drinks.  

After our cruise our coach will meet us and return us to our Hotel.

FRIDAY  -   Breakfast and we meet our coach for our return journey home.  We make a stop at OSWESTRY were we stop for a break, then we continue our journey back home when we make a comfort stop and the driver will give estimated arrival home times.

 

Price per person, sharing a Twin or Double Bedded Room:  £560.00.

Single Room supplement is :  £48.00.

 

Bookings are taken over the telephone, followed by £50.00 per person deposit, paid by bank transfer or cheque, with final payment 6 weeks prior to departure date.

INSURANCE:   We suggest you take out your own insurance.
