5 DAY IRISH EXPLORER

5 DAY

IRISH EXPLORER

Sunday, 11 May  -  Thursday, 15 May, 2025.

Staying at the fabulous 4 Star STORMONT HOTEL, Belfast, which is located minutes from Belfast City Centre and is adjacent to Stormont Estate.   The hotel has a lounge with wood burning stoves, 106 tastefully decorated bedrooms which have King Koil “cloud Beds”, and a restaurant called La Scala.

We are booked in on Bed, Full Irish Breakfast and Evening Dinner which consist of a choice of 3 starters, choice of 3 mains and an assiette of 3 desserts, followed by Tea or Coffee.

The hotel has ground floor bedrooms and some rooms with walk-in showers, but these do have to be booked when booking.  There is a Single Room Supplement and this is for either a twin bedded room or a double bedded room for sole occupancy.  The Hotel has a lift to all floors.

SUNDAY -

An early start as we travel up to Scotland to meet our boat at Cairnryan for our 3.30 p.m. sailing to Belfast, where we should arrive for 5.45 p.m.     On the journey we will make some comfort stops.

We make our way directly to the Hotel and the porters will take our luggage to our room, whilst we have our Evening Meal.

MONDAY -

Irish Breakfast in the restaurant, and after breakfast we meet our guide at City Hall, Belfast and commence our 2 ½ HOUR COACH GUIDED TOUR OF BELFAST.   This is a perfect introduction to the history and heritage of Belfast.

Rest of the day is free to explore Belfast and maybe do some shopping.  Evening meal in the Hotel’s restaurant.

TUESDAY -   After breakfast we meet our coach and we visit the BOTANICAL GARDENS OF BELFAST.  Visit the Palm House and the Rose Garden.   After spending time here, we meet the coach and head for TITANIC BELFAST which stands as a tribute to the city’s maritime heritage on the site where the RMS Titanic was constructed.  This iconic building captures the stories of the Titanic and the people who built her.   The museum is housed in a unique building with interpretive galleries, drawing together special effects, full scale reconstructions and interactive features.   It is no accident that the time it took to construct is a mirror of RMS Titanic’s build.   Evening meal in the Hotel’s restaurant.

WEDNESDAY -  After breakfast we meet the coach and set off for the AMAZING GIANTS CAUSEWAY, which is an ancient national treasure and was formed around 60 million years ago by intense volcanic eruptions.  Visiting the Giant’s Causeway is made comfortable and accessible thanks to the well thought out facilities provided at the site.   At the top of the causeway, where coaches drop visitors, you will find the visitors centre.  From here you can choose to take a scenic walk down to the sea, or you can take a shuttle bus service which runs from behind the Visitors Centre to the causeway.  This minibus runs every 15 minutes and costs about £3.00 return payable to the driver.  Please note this price could alter.  Evening Dinner in the Hotel’s restaurant.

THURSDAY  -

Luggage will be collected from you rooms and we meet the coach, after breakfast and make our way to the docks for the 11.30 a.m. sailing back to Cairnryan, to arrive for 1.45 p.m.

We commence our return journey home making some comfort stops.
